What is white collar crime?

Typically, white collar crime is any crime that's not a violent crime, that's not a crime against a person's body, such as battery or stabbing someone.
 
Generally, it refers to crimes that involve, for example, theft, misappropriation of property, wire fraud, bank fraud, embezzelment, money laundering, and those types of offenses.
